Among the few music related events MTV hosts, there were high hopes for the MTV Video Music Awards held last night at Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. Miley Cyrus letting it all hang out, literally, was only one of the interesting things to take place at the VMAs.
The show started out with a bang with Nicki Minaj performing – only to be joined on stage by Taylor Swift(who previously took some serious statements about racism in the industry stated by Nicki very personally). To put it nicely, not many people enjoyed this performance after Taylor joined in.
taylor joining nicki onstage was so ugly and unneeded

Nicki you started by snatching my edges then the second Taylor came out they just reappeared

Nicki played nice until her award acceptance speech where she thanked her pastor and then proceeded to call out Miley over some comments from an interview. Cyrus tried to play off the comments but was obviously caught off guard.
Nicki didn’t even shade Miley, she called her tf up and shut her down. http://t.co/uXAQqOjPU1

Some other highlights from the night included Macklemore rising from his grave in the thrift shop to deliver a performance on the streets of LA, Justin Bieber crying after a performance and Kayne West announcing he was planning on running for president in 2020.

Somewhere in the middle of all this mess, Miley had a ‘nipslip’ during one of her costume changes. The predictability of said slip is up for debate.
My personal favorite part of the night was Miley bringing out many of my favorite drag queens during her performance, which overall was not that great.

To sum up, the show was pretty bland with a few surprising, good moments thrown in. My tip to you is to just watch YouTube clips.
