DeAndre’s cold feet brings about Twitter emoji war

In case you missed it last week, the NBA Free Agency is abuzz with recent signings and re-signings of studs in the league. Apart from the San Antonio Spurs killing it in the offseason (Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobili, Danny Green, Kawhi Leonard, AND LaMarcus Aldridge?!), the big story was LA Clippers big man, DeAndre Jordan. DJ made a verbal agreement with the Dallas Mavericks for a 4-year $80 million deal on July 5. As signing day slowly inched closer, rumor spread that Jordan was getting cold feet – that’s when the entire league jumped at him… on Twitter.

After Doc Rivers, Steve Ballmer and Mark Cuban each made it known they’d be coming out to Texas to personally sign the double double machine, NBA players started chiming in with those cute little emojis.

Jordan’s would-be teammate on the Mavs got the ball rolling with one single tweet.

Followed by Clipper J.J. Redick who reportedly drove out with Chris Paul and Blake Griffin to win the big man back for the red. SPOILER: It worked.

New teammate Paul Pierce got into the mix as well, though he might not be as emoji-familiar like the rest of his team. Just stick to what you do best Paul – buzzer beaters.

Can’t talk NBA without the reigning champions of course…

Kobe learned a lot from the Twitter shenanigans. Like… what is an emoji. And how to be arrogant… with an emoji.

There were many, many more out there on Twitter, but I want to end it on the legend.

And in the words of Scottie Pippen:
