The King is dead. B.B. King that is. The 89-year-old blues legend passed away in his sleep at his Las Vegas home on Thursday, May 14th, 2015 after a series of small strokes caused by type 2 diabetes.
Legendary guitarist Eric Clapton recorded a touching video expressing his condolences.
BB King a dear friend and inspiration to me….

While the coaches of The Voice on NBC covered King’s 1969 hit, The Thrill is Gone.
A excellent performance on The Voice tonight in memory of Mr. BB King. http://t.co/JDFBv2ptur

Unfortunately, it seems that many don’t know the difference between B.B. King and Ben E. King, famous for his ballad Stand By Me, who passed away April 30th.
