American Pharoah wasn’t horsing around

For the first time since 1978, a horse has captured the Triple Crown after winning at Belmont Stakes, making it the first Triple Crown that many of us have seen in our lifetime.

American Pharoah (yes, the incorrect spelling is the correct spelling) won race by 5-½ lengths on Saturday, June 6th. It turns out that his name was decided by a contest online with the winning entry being submitted by Missouri resident Marsha Baumgartner who claims she checked the dictionary before submitting her entry.

Of course, you can’t help but wonder how American Pharoah would have fared against past winners. Now you can see it on video.

While not the best of all time, his performance still moved many to tears.
