Today in “How is that even possible?” news, a 65-year-old woman, Annegret Raunigk, has given birth. With all the technology available today you might ask, “What makes that so special?” Well, she has given birth to 4, yes FOUR, babies at once, becoming the oldest mother to have quadruplets.
Not only that but it brings her total number of children to 17, ranging in age from newborn to 44. She is also grandmother to seven children.
This all apparently came about from her youngest daughter asking for a younger sibling. She also made headlines for that child as well, claiming she was conceived naturally when she was 55-years-old.
Another amazing thing is she says she largely raised her children alone (She has been married 5 times) and she could not imagine another man in her life to help her out. “My experiences with men were always that they were the wrong ones,” she said.
The newborns — whose names are Neeta, Dries, Bence and Fjonn — were delivered by C-section and are being kept in incubators for premature babies.
She is not the oldest woman to give birth. That record belongs to Rajo Devi Lohan, an Indian woman who at 70 became the world’s oldest known first time mother after three rounds of IVF.
